Darksiders Story Trailer

June 21, 2009 Uncategorized Comments Off

Vigil released a story trailer for Darksiders, it’s got some cool shots of the Bat Queen model I did for the game, textured by Pio Ravago. The game looks awesome, I’m dying to play it. I’ll stick some still shots in my portfolio later in the week.

Wolfenstein: The Altered

Raven’s been releasing videos showcasing some of the characters from the new Wolfenstein game. I did the high-poly sculpt and the lowpoly for this character about a year a half-ago when I was freelancing, it’s called ‘the Altered’. Not sure who textured, I’ll try to find out. Most of other trailers that have been released have my models in them, but it’s been a few years since I worked on the game, and my memory isn’t so good, so have I hard time remembering what exactly I worked on.

Few quick notes: So, I’ve just about finished updating the site, I’ll mostly just be polishing from here.

Mass Effect 2 was the cover-story of July’s Official Xbox Magazine. The 10-page article has a lot of art from the game which has not been released online. There’s a few shots in the article of one of the characters I made: Thane. He’s a sort of fish/amphibious looking assassin.  I’d scan and post some pics, but I’m not sure of the legalities. You can catch a glimpse of him in the trailer below.

OXM July

Also wanted to post up the ME2 trailer we showed at E3 this year. This extended cut trailer is pretty badass, shame they didn’t show the behind-closed-doors demo publicly, it looked great.

Updating The Site

May 24, 2009 Uncategorized Comments Off

As E3 crunch comes to an end, I realized I haven’t updated my site in about 4 months, been quite busy with work and other stuff. I’ve decided the site could use a facelift. I’m going to start doing personal work again, and as such wanted a site that faciliated quickly posting wip images. This redesign is very WIP, so have patience, and keep an eye out for new personal art from me. I’ll probably also post some E3-related stuff at some point in June.

I received some more samples from DC this week, the Joker 1:2 Scale bust, DK Joker Mini-Bust, and the DK Joker Figure. I’ve been meaning to photograph some of the pieces I made over the last couple years for my portfolio. When I got the figure, I’m immediately started posing it, and attaching all the accessories. I Had tons of fun deciding on a final pose and lighting it.  4 new pics in the DK Joker Figure album

Dark Knight Best-Buy Statues

December 19, 2008 Professional Work Comments Off

DC Direct has miniaturized the Batman and Joker statues I sculpted and released them with the Dark Knight DVD as an exclusive limited edition promotional collectible for Best Buy. From what I understand, about 10 of these statues were sent to each Best Buy store, so they’re quite rare.

Check out the post on SuperheroHype.com, there are also a couple of reviews of the mini-statues on Youtube, which show the sculpts off in quite a lot of detail: Joker & Batman.

So, yeah, that’s pretty cool.

Interview on CGChannel.com

nullEarlier this month I did an interview with Travis Bourbeau for CGChannel, it’s currently featured on their frontpage. This is the first interview I’ve done in about a year or two, so it’s something of a post-mortem on my time as a freelancer. Check it out.

‘The Spirit’ Statues & Busts

November 29, 2008 Professional Work Comments Off

Over the summer I had the privilege of working with Dark Horse on the collectibles line for Frank Miller’s upcoming film adaptation of Will Eisner’s classic ‘The Spirit’. I was lucky to collaborate once again with the legendary Oluf W. Hartvigson on the line. I previously worked with Oluf when he engineered and produced my sculpts for DCDirect’s Dark Knight merch and the comic style 1:2 scale busts.

Check out the ‘Spirit’ project album in my portfolio for shots of the models and a breakdown of the work.
