Dark Knight Joker Figure

I received some more samples from DC this week, the Joker 1:2 Scale bust, DK Joker Mini-Bust, and the DK Joker Figure. I’ve been meaning to photograph some of the pieces I made over the last couple years for my portfolio. When I got the figure, I’m immediately started posing it, and attaching all the accessories. I Had tons of fun deciding on a final pose and lighting it.  4 new pics in the DK Joker Figure album

Dark Knight Best-Buy Statues

DC Direct has miniaturized the Batman and Joker statues I sculpted and released them with the Dark Knight DVD as an exclusive limited edition promotional collectible for Best Buy. From what I understand, about 10 of these statues were sent to each Best Buy store, so they’re quite rare.

Check out the post on SuperheroHype.com, there are also a couple of reviews of the mini-statues on Youtube, which show the sculpts off in quite a lot of detail: Joker & Batman.

So, yeah, that’s pretty cool.

Interview on CGChannel.com

Earlier this month I did an interview with Travis Bourbeau for CGChannel, it’s currently featured on their frontpage. This is the first interview I’ve done in about a year or two, so it’s something of a post-mortem on my time as a freelancer. Check it out.

‘The Spirit’ Statues & Busts

Over the summer I had the privilege of working with Dark Horse on the collectibles line for Frank Miller’s upcoming film adaptation of Will Eisner’s classic ‘The Spirit’. I was lucky to collaborate once again with the legendary Oluf W. Hartvigson on the line. I previously worked with Oluf when he engineered and produced my sculpts for DCDirect’s Dark Knight merch and the comic style 1:2 scale busts.

Check out the ‘Spirit’ project album in my portfolio for shots of the models and a breakdown of the work.

I’ve joined Bioware Corp.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I’ve joined Bioware Corp as a Principal Artist. I’m really enjoying working with all the awesome folks at Bioware, really some of the best talent in the industry.

Silent Hill: Homecoming Released

Early last year I had the pleasure of working on Silent Hill Homecoming for The Collective/Konami. I did a couple models for the game: Deputy Wheeler (Hi, Low, Rip, Render) & Mrs. Shepard (Hi-poly). Dan Borth of Red Fly handled the textures for the Deputy Wheeler character.

I added a pic of the character to my portfolio. Will try to get some better shots after the game is released.

Beelzebub Model Available On Gnomonology

My Beelzebub model, or ‘humanoid bat creature’ is now available for download from Gnomon’s Gnomonology site. The download contains a .ztl, a .mud (both with subd levels intact) and a .obj (just the highest subd). Some of you might recognize the model as one of the first sculpts I did back in the days of the Mudbox 1 beta. I plan to release some of my newer models sometime in the next month.

Dark Knight Joker Figure Featured on Cover of Toyfare

I just found out the Dark Knight Deluxe Joker Action Figure was featured on the cover of Toyfare magazine. Which is pretty cool because I read Toyfare (and Wizard) as a kid, pretty religiously – so seeing my stuff on the cover was a pretty giddy nostalgic thrill. Check out the Joker deluxe figure gallery for scans of the cover and a couple interior pages.

Check it out if you get a chance, it’s the August 2008 issue, #132.
